A man was killed, but none of the officers were injured in a shooting incident at Brunswick, Georgia police on Saturday, which is being investigated by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

A spokeswoman for the office said in a brief press release that GBI agents were operating overnight after Brunswick Chief of Police Kevin Jones asked the state agency to investigate the shooting.

Law enforcement said the shooting appeared to have occurred in downtown Brunswick – about two miles from police headquarters in Southeast Georgia.

GBI released the press release on Twitter around 10 pm. The statement said this was the 71st officer involved in the shooting and who GBI was asked to investigate this year.
