Walmart Canada, one of the nation’s largest retailers, will not introduce its price-matching program in October.
In a statement, the company said it would discontinue its ad matching program due to reduced usage and delays upon checkout.
“Over time, we observed minimal use of ad matching software, while at the same time the software caused delays when checking out. As a result, we are discontinuing the ad matching program in all stores and on Walmart.ca as of October 15,” he said. In the statement.
The change is not related to COVID and that Walmart Canada will emphasize the savings pricing program known as “back down”.
According to their website, stores across Canada will continue to accept coupons but price matching will only be accepted until October 15th.
The only price match that the retailer will still accept is for items from their online store, however some restrictions may apply.
