A 4-year-old boy died after a house fire in Ivanhoe, according to Mike Boudreau, Tulare County Sheriff.
The fire started around 4:30 a.m. near Route 164 and 320 Street.
According to Boudreau, a 13-year-old boy was watching two children ages 6 and 4 while the children’s mother was fighting an SQF compound fire as a tender for water.
The two children, aged 13 and 6, escaped from the fire. The 4-year-old did not run away.
One of the firefighters was slightly injured.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
