Sheriff David Morgan said that more than 300 homes in the province of Escambia have been evacuated from Hurricane Sally.
Sheriff Morgan added that people are still trapped in the Innerarity area, where rescue operations are taking place. Jason Roberts, Director of Public Safety for Escambia, said that more than 400 rescues have been carried out so far.
Mayor Grover Robinson said there was no need for rescue operations in Pensacola, but city crews are helping the county.
Pensacola International Airport remains closed.
