More than 200,000 homes and businesses in northwest Florida were left without electricity following Hurricane Sally.
Escambia County Emergency Department posted a message on Facebook about when we can restore power to key locations like gas stations and grocery stores.
They say Gulf Power’s first priority is to restore power to critical places like hospitals, 911 centers, fire stations and water treatment plants. Then they’ll focus on getting it back to the largest number of customers in the shortest time – that’s where gas stations are included.
Some gas stations that are lucky enough to get power have now opened, but they have kept their gas pumps shut.
Gas is available at some gas stations in northwest Florida – but expect long lines.
