A one-year-old Tampa boy died after being thrown from a pickup truck during the I-75 crash in Broward County on Thursday.
According to an accident report, two adults in the truck were seriously injured. The FHP report states that there were a total of three adults and four children in the truck at the time of the accident.
According to the report, a 31-year-old male and a 56-year-old female passenger were seriously injured. The report stated that the 33-year-old, 10-year-old, 8-year-old, and 4-year-old driver sustained light injuries.
According to the report, none of the passengers were wearing seat belts or restraints.
The accident happened around 4:18 pm. Near MM 27. FHP says it’s caused by a tire burst.
According to the report, when the tire exploded, the truck rolled off the road, on the outside of the grass shoulder and overturned several times before reaching final stillness on its roof.
The one-year-old was taken out and fell into part of the canal. His body was found during a rescue mission Thursday night after the accident.
According to the FHP, the case is still under investigation.
