A boy, 14, died in a crash after a police chase in NW Houston

 Police say a 14-year-old boy died and two other teenagers were injured when the chase ended in a crash in northwest Houston.

The accident occurred near Little York and Hollister around 12:20 am

Police say the accident began when officers discovered a stolen car. Authorities say officers were tracking the car back to Hollister and waiting to return.

According to the police, when the suspect saw another police officer driving his car, he passed through both lights at the highway intersection and sped away.

Police say he drove about a mile and a half north of Hollister, until he lost control and hit the sidewalk. When you leave the car across the road and into a ditch.

The driver died at the scene of the accident. Police say a 19-year-old passenger was ejected from the car. She was hospitalized in critical condition. A 16-year-old female passenger was hospitalized in stable condition.

The investigation is underway.
