Authorities said a father was behind bars after he sexually assaulted his 9-month-old daughter, killing her.
According to Harris County sheriffs, they were summoned to a Houston housing complex in 15035 to an unresponsive child.
Once they arrived, they found Safaya Mason, who is 9 months old, and tried to save her. However, her death was announced as soon as she reached a nearby hospital.
Investigators began investigating her death, but medical examiners found surprising evidence.
According to the sheriff’s office, the forensic doctor found that the child had been sexually assaulted and died from suffocation during the assault.
Father Louis Luna, 23, is interviewed, and somehow, the deputies quickly decide it was he who killed the child. Luna is now facing murder charges for the death of his daughter.
