Police in Richmond confirmed the death of a 64-year-old motorcyclist.
Authorities said the accident occurred as Richmond Police (RPD) officers responded to 800 Block 14 South for a motorbike accident around 8:34 p.m.
Refugee Protection Police officers arrived at the scene and found the motorcyclist, Henry Faris, 64, from Richmond, dead.
Evidence gathered at the scene indicated that Faris was heading south at 14th St at Block 800 when he failed to maneuver around a slight bend, left the road and collided with a light pole.
Authorities said Fares was expelled from the motorcycle and died at the scene.
The Refugee Protection Department said that the evidence at the scene of the accident, the mechanism of injury and the damage to the motorcycle indicated speed as a contributing factor to the accident.
