A 25-year-old woman was killed while crossing Lane Street, and the car hitting her failed to stop, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Police said the accident occurred shortly after 9 pm. Police said that rescue teams took the victim to a nearby hospital, where she died.
The driver was traveling north on Lundontown Lane when he hit the woman, according to JSO. Police said they believed the victim was leaving an apartment complex.
The sheriff’s office said the incident was filmed by a nearby video. The sheriff’s office did not say where the video was taken.
Police did not immediately release any suspicious or information about the vehicle.
The sheriff’s office said several witnesses were participating in the investigation.
