Police are investigating a fatal shooting incident in the Rawnhurst neighborhood of Philadelphia. Investigators say a man was shot dead inside his home on 1200 Street of Fuller Street, at around 11:30 p.m.
Officers say the man may have been shot during a house break-in and a robbery. They say it did not appear that the house was broken into.
When the officers entered the house, they found the 21-year-old with multiple bullet wounds to his chest and neck. Police say he was lying on his living room sofa when they found him.
Investigators found six spent shell casings nearby. They also found a lot of money and jewelry in the victim’s body.
The man was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The motive for the attack remains unclear, but police are working with evidence recovered from the scene.
“Front bedroom is on the second floor, you can see that the window blinds have been pushed out, they are damaged. Looks like someone came out of the front bedroom on the second floor and jumped into the front garden due to some disturbance in the front lawn. There is a light done. He raised it, and there appears to be a footprint of someone jumping in, ”chief inspector of Philadelphia Police. Scott Small said.
The police are now talking to a family member and friend of the victim who were inside the house at the time.
So far, no arrests have been made.
