An 8-year-old girl was killed and two adults were seriously injured after being shot in Chicago while traveling in a car on the south side of town.
The shooting occurred shortly before 6 pm. In Cannaryville, Chicago Police Chief Operations Officer Brian McDermott said.
Police said the girl was with her mother and two other adults in a Subaru 4×4 when they stopped at a red light on 47th Street and Union Street, with a Dodge Charger behind. Once the stoplight turned green, police said, a person in the charger opened fire, and hit the child, a 31-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman.
