The Warren County sheriff’s office in Tennessee has been called in for a plane crash off Interstate 70 old Nashville. Three people were on board when authorities said it entered a field near Warren County Memorial Airport at 11:40 am.
Eyewitnesses told the mayor’s office that the plane stopped and crashed to the ground near the end of the airport runway. Investigators are still trying to verify this information.
There is no information on the condition of the three people on board
The FAA and NTSB have launched an investigation of the accident. The Federal Aviation Administration described the aircraft as a single-engine Piper PA-28. The aircraft tail number is expected to be released soon.
