Authorities say a woman was killed in a vehicle crash on September 6 at the bottom of the Salt River near 75th Street.
According to the Maricopa County Mayor’s Office, the accident happened at 10:30 PM. When the ATV capsized in the river bed area. Authorities say this is a wasteland with no lighting.
A woman in her twenties suffered severe head trauma and firefighters were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver and another passenger sustained minor injuries.
MCSO says none of the passengers were wearing a helmet and that the woman who was killed was not wearing a seat belt.
There was no alcohol involved in the accident.
