Authorities said an Ohio police officer was shot dead in Cleveland.
Cleveland Police Detective James Skernevitz, 53, was shot and killed around 10 p.m. On West 65th Street, said Jeff Vollmer, president of the Cleveland Police Patrol Association. The Police Department has not confirmed that Skernivitz, who has been with the department for 25 years, was the fatal officer, media reported.
Police said another person, whose name has not been released, died in the accident. This person has not been considered a suspect, according to the media.
