Metro Police are investigating the death of a man by a fatal bullet during an apparent theft of a car in southern Nashville.
Officers responded to the shooting scene at around 9:30 p.m. In a residential complex on Packard Drive.
Police said a man was near his car when two people tried to steal the car. The man ran to tell his mother, and when he got back outside, the officers said he had been shot by car thieves.
Investigators said the victim died of his wounds.
No additional information was immediately released.
