One person was killed and another hospitalized after a head-on collision in the province of Escambia.
The Florida Highway Patrol says the accident happened around 9:50 pm. In the US 29 north of Morgan Cemetery Road.
A silver sedan was driving north in the southbound lanes, while an SUV was driving south.
The vehicles collided head-on, and the silver car caught fire.
The death of the vehicle driver has been announced at the scene by Escambia Fire / Rescue County. No details were revealed about the victim.
The SUV driver – a 38-year-old Pensacola woman – was taken by helicopter to a local hospital.
