A 73-year-old man is killed when he is hit by a car in eastern Nashville.
Officers reacted after 1:30 a.m. to the Dickerson Pike crash on Grizzard Avenue.
Subway police said Robert Woods was walking south on Dickerson Pike Road when he tripped and fell into the road, where he was hit by a car. Woods was taken to TriStar Skyline Medical Center, where he died.
The driver of the car involved was at the scene when officers arrived and said he was unable to avoid hitting Woods, according to police. Investigators added that there were no indications of weakness on behalf of the driver.
