A cyclist was killed in a hit-and-run accident, and the authorities are looking for any information about the vehicle in question.
The cyclist, a 50-year-old man from Pensacola, was hit by a car on Palafox Street, north of Johnson Street, at around 11:16 p.m., according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.
A dark-colored car was driving north on Palafox Street when it collided with the stern of a cyclist, who was traveling north in Palafox. Immediately after the accident, the car ran away from the scene and was last seen driving north at Palafox.
As a result of the collision, the cyclist was fatally injured and pronounced dead by the Escambia County EMT at the scene.
The car is said to be dark in color, and may have been a Chevrolet Cruze. It has damage to the front and stirrups, possibly including the windshield, and loses the passenger side mirror.
