Two soldiers were killed and three others wounded during an army aircraft training accident near Coronado.
A US military public affairs official confirmed that the accident occurred near Coronado.
“A member of the US Army Special Operations Command was conducting a routine training exercise near Coronado, California, on August 27 when a plane accident occurred,” an army public affairs officer said in a statement.
The statement added that two soldiers were killed and three others wounded. Names are not disclosed.
“The area has been secured and the investigation is underway. Further information will be released 24 hours after notifying the relatives. Our sincere condolences to the families and friends of the deceased. We thank you for not contacting them,” the statement said, “during this difficult time.”
