Officials announced the death of a 20-year-old woman until a funeral home found she was actually alive.
The Southfield Fire Department says they arrived home shortly after 7:30 a.m. The woman was unresponsive and performed CPR and other methods of resuscitation for 30 minutes, according to the department.
Fire officials say they determined the woman was dead and was released directly to the family, who made arrangements with the funeral home.
