Officials said a mother and her two sons were attacked by a dog they were caring for.
Coral Springs Police said a family was providing foster care for Taurus when he turned on them around 2 p.m.
“The 11-year-old bull attacked when the 12-year-old intervened,” Officer Chris Swenson told the Sun Sentinel. “The mother went out, engaged, and the bull turned on her. When the bull began to attack the mother, the 12-year-old grabbed a knife and stabbed the dog.”
The 11-year-old boy was taken by helicopter to the hospital, with serious wounds to the face. The 35-year-old mother and other son were treated at the scene.
The dog was taken to a veterinarian for treatment. The dog will be quarantined for two weeks.
