Police in Ohio have charged a 14-year-old with shooting his two-year-old nephew with bullets, according to media reports.
Police responded to a home in Columbus where they said the teen had told them he was looking after the little boy and his one-year-old niece when the gun he was carrying got out, injuring the boy.
The young boy was taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital, where he died.
The niece was not injured.
Media reports said the police accused the uncle of reckless murder and tampering with evidence.
The authorities have not released the young child’s name.
The investigation is underway.
