Police said a man sustained injuries not believed to be life-threatening in an afternoon shooting on California Street.
Officers were dispatched at 4:35 pm. To East California Street on Williams Street, where they found a man shot in an abandoned building, according to a statement from the Bakersfield Police Department.
He was transferred to a local hospital and the investigation is still underway.
