After another violent weekend in Memphis, the number of homicides in the city continues to increase.
To date, the police have responded to 170 murders.
That’s 69 more murders than the same period last year. FOX13 crushed the numbers and found that statistically there is a murder in Memphis roughly every 32 hours this year.
Here is a breakdown of the violence over the past weekend.
Last night, a man was shot and killed in N. Germantown Parkway.
Police detained several people for questioning in the case.
Early Sunday morning, a man was shot dead in Whitehaven.
The police have one person in custody.
Later that afternoon, shots were fired at an apartment complex in Whitehaven.
Memphis police have found a person believed to be a dead teenager.
Another person, a man, was found shot dead in Whitehaven on Sunday afternoon.
Police said he was taken to one district, where he died.
Memphis police arrested a man for shooting and killing his father.
He was charged with first degree murder.
Saturday evening, a man deliberately ran over an SUV.
The police found him unresponsive on the sidewalk and rushed him to the East Baptist, where he died.
