Authorities said an 8-year-old girl was shot dead during a teens gathering at a home in Ohio.
Akron Police said several shots were fired shortly before midnight in the Sherbondy Hill neighborhood. Police said the girl was found injured and taken to Akron Children’s Hospital, where she later died.
Police said there was a large gathering of teenagers in the house and it appeared that shots were fired from outside the house.
The girl’s name was not immediately revealed. The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office is planning an autopsy. There were no immediate reports of arrests.
