The terms are “Go” for Pensacola as the main target location for the Space Space’s Crew Dragon “Endeavor.”
According to NASA, after assessing the weather conditions for water spray off the coast, teams from NASA and Space X are continuing preparations to bring astronauts Robert Behnken and Douglas Hurley home.
This will be the first astronaut flight in 45 years.
The alternative site is located off the coast of Panama City in the Gulf of Mexico. Teams will continue to monitor the impact of Hurricane Issias on potential spray locations.
Space X will monitor changes in conditions up to 2.5 hours before scheduled docking is canceled, when departure time is scheduled. If conditions are marginal and exceed acceptable standards, a joint recommendation from SpaceX and NASA will be made whether to proceed further at 7:34 pm. EDT. NASA and SpaceX will make the final decision to move forward after astronauts are ready inside Crew Dragon before cancellation.
