The authorities are investigating after a child was shot dead by a 4-year-old during the weekend.
Marietta Hill, 64, was shot from Westville, Illinois, around 12:30 pm. On Sunday, investigators at Vermillion County Police Department said while driving near a gas station in Tilton, Illinois.
The officers said Hill and the child, a woman’s relative, were traveling in the car when the child found a pistol. The child accidentally shot the gun to the driver’s seat and hit Hill, according to Champaign County Investigator.
Hill crashed the car in a sign at a gas station. She was taken to Urbana Hospital, Illinois, where officers said she died from a gunshot wound.
