Wichita’s father was formally charged with murder in the accident of his two-year-old son drowning in a swimming pool in Wichita.
Wichita Eagle reported that William K. Kabuto, 44, is charged with first-degree premeditated murder and a second-degree premeditated murder charge alleging that the death was unintended but occurred in reckless conditions. He is also charged with two counts of endangering a child.
Police claim that Kabuto was intoxicated when the two-year-old boy and his 4-year-old brother were taken to the pool and allowed the children to sneak through the fence bars. Then the youngest child went to the water, but his father was large to cross the pool wall fence bars and the gate was closed.
Emergency crews were called in after a passer-by reported a boy floating in the pool, located in a mobile home park.
Her aunt Omari, Roselyna Fust, told the newspaper that last week was “the first time in months” that the two boys saw their father.
Kabuto remains in prison instead of $ 150,000 in bonds. A defense lawyer did not immediately reply to a letter.
