Lauren police say an important person is being held in their investigation into the killing of a two-year-old girl.
According to a press release, at approximately 11:30 pm, the police were called to the 1900 WW21 block for a shooting incident.
The officers, who decided to shoot three people, started to help them.
Lauren Police identified those who shot them as Constance Mays, 62 years old; Hassan Lauderdale, 20; and Camille Patterson, 2.
Police said the three were taken to Lorraine Mercy Hospital, where Camille died of her wounds. The circumstances of the other two are unknown at this time.
Earlier, Lorraine police asked for public help in identifying the person responsible for “this horrific crime.”
Police confirmed that they had arrested a man in Pai on charges unrelated to her. This person is being held as a person with an interest in murder.
