Officials said search and rescue operations will continue for Actress Naya Rivera, who disappeared while riding on boats in Lake California.
Rivera, 33, disappeared on Wednesday afternoon after renting a boat and taking it to Lake Peru with her 4-year-old son.
The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office had announced that a search involving a diving team was under way to search for a “potential drowning victim” but had later identified the missing person as Rivera, noting that the search had been canceled but would continue “at the beginning.”
Captain Eric Bushchu, spokesman for the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, told reporters that Rivera had reached the lake and had chartered the boat around 1 pm. The boat was found three hours later with her son, Jose Hollis Dorsey, but missing.
“He is safe with family members,” Bouchou said, adding that he expects to have “a lot of resources” to help with the research.
Rivera is best known for starring in the television series The Galli But she has many acting credits when she starts to behave like a child. She was briefly married to actor Ryan Dorsey who is shared by their son’s nursery, Josie.
