The owners of several popular pubs in the city center have decided to temporarily close.

200 South contains World of Beer, Blend Lounge, Taco Agave and Graffiti Pizza.

Here is the statement from 200 South:

We’ve always made decisions that are best for business and society, but now we need to take another step forward. Our employees, our community, our loyal customers and friends, and the safety of our families are our first priority. With the rise in cases in our local area and the city center, we have to step back and ask: “What is right?”

From the start, we have followed all the guidelines and recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention regarding hygiene and sanitation. We voluntarily closed our dining rooms before the Florida Department of Business and Professional Organization announced its official announcement on Friday, June 26th. We have increased the frequency of disinfection of all surfaces. We have installed hand sanitizer stations throughout the complex. We expanded outdoor dining to enhance social exclusion. We have switched to all disposable paper lists and items to reduce contact. We changed our operations to encourage Curbside Pickup to try to serve our guests as safely as possible.

Despite our best efforts, we feel this is not enough to keep our people safe. The last thing we want to do is expose our employees and guests unnecessarily to potential risks. However, we made the decision to temporarily close all operations in 200 South (Graffiti Pizza, World of Beer, Taco Agave, Blend Lounge) as of July 1.

We never believed that we would have to make this decision, but it is clearly the right choice for moral and ethical decision-making. The continuation of operations, even on a limited basis, is irresponsible and an unnecessary risk to all concerned. We will only contribute to the bigger problem.

As a company, we are not the only ones affected by this closure. Our employees will be greatly affected as well. We know they depend on money from our business to feed their families and pay their bills. These obligations will not simply end because we have closed them. We are keen to ensure that our employees are taken care of during this difficult time, and therefore each of our employees will be paid wages during this time.

We will use this time to take any possible measures to ensure a safe environment for our employees and guests to return when we reopen. We will continue to follow all CDC cleaning guidelines.

We will thoroughly clean every work and sterilize everything. We will continue to use all safety measures that we implemented before this closure.

Ultimately, we know this is not forever. Despite the difficulty of looking to the future, we know that we will come back stronger as a company and as members of the Pensacola community we love him so much. Thanks to everyone for your continued and future support. We will not be able to do this without each of you.

Looking forward to serving you and our community again soon.
