Johns Hopkins University reported that the number of new infections in the Corona virus in the United States for the second day in a row exceeded the threshold of 40 thousand cases.
The university, which is considered one of the most reliable international sources in coronavirus outbreak statistics and based on data from federal and local official bodies and open sources, confirmed that the United States detected yesterday 42597 new infections, compared to 45,255 cases the day before (i.e. the largest daily rise recorded in the country so far ).
The university indicated that 500 new deaths due to the “Covid-19” disease caused by the Corona virus are recorded in the United States yesterday, compared to 629 deaths the day before.
In general, in the United States, according to university data, during the 156 days that have passed since the first case of corona was detected, there have been 2,510,323 confirmed cases of the epidemic, including 125,539 deaths and 679308 recovery cases.
The rate of new coronavirus infections in the United States has increased continuously in the recent period, after falling for more than six weeks, with a number of states recording record jumps in the number of people recently infected.
The resurgence of the epidemic has prompted the authorities of some US states and territories to re-tighten restrictions to reduce the spread of infection.
