The family of the late rock star Tom Betty criticized US President Donald Trump for using his famous song “I Wont Back Down” at an election conference attended by a few supporters in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and sent his campaign with a warning to stop using it.

No one has the right to use this song to support a campaign neglecting many Americans and common sense, my family said on Twitter

The signed tweet from Dana, Betty’s widow and ex-wife Jane and his two daughters Adria and Anakim, said, “Tom Betty would never accept that one of his songs be used in a hate campaign … The late Tom Betty and his family members stand firm against racism and discrimination of any kind and the Trump campaign has not yet responded to Request for comment.

The campaign used the song Betty at an election conference that attracted a small number of attendees at the BOK Center, which seats 19,000 people.
