US President Donald Trump said, “The (Corona) virus will disappear even without a vaccine.” But researchers are about to develop one anyway, according to Bloomberg
“We are very close to developing the vaccine and really good treatments,” Trump said yesterday in a television interview with Fox News. He added, “But even without that, (Corona) fades and will disappear; But getting a vaccine would be really nice
Trump’s comments come as the United States continues to record about 20,000 new daily cases, from a pandemic that has so far killed more than 117,000 people in the country. The president called for the easing of restrictions on public activity that were put in place to slow the spread of the virus.
Anthony Fuchi, president of the American National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said the vaccine could be ready by the end of the year, or the first few months of 2021. More than 130 vaccines against Corona are being developed, according to the World Health Organization.
But Fuchi – a member of the Corona pandemic force at the White House – also warned last week that the infection would not burn itself and fade away once public health measures were taken. “We will need a vaccine for the whole world, billions and billions of doses,” he said in comments online.
