The US Department of Health has said it will allow state health ministries to distribute the Gladis drug, manufactured by the company, Gliders Science, to treat Covid-19 disease, which is caused by the emerging coronavirus.
The company has pledged to provide about 607,000 doses of treatment over the next six weeks in the United States. The ministry said it would take over the distribution of doses to hospitals.
The drug showed promising results in helping Covid-19 patients. The US Food and Drug Administration gave the company emergency approval to use the drug, paving the way for its widespread distribution in the United States.
The data showed that the drug helps patients recover in lesser periods.
