Rock and roll pioneer little Richard died at the age of 87.
Richard, the musician and singer, influenced many of the musicians who eventually became more famous. His son Danny Benniman confirmed his death, but said the cause of death was unknown.
Charles Glenn, the guitarist in his band, said that Richard was ill two months ago and that he had died at his home in Tennessee, surrounded by his brother, sister and son.
Glenn said that he spoke to Richard on March 27 and the singer asked him to visit him, but he was unable to do so due to the Corona virus epidemic. He added that Richard was like a father to him.
In the 1950s and early 1960s, Richard was known for songs performed by (Tutti Frutti) and (Long Tal Sally).
