For the first time COVID-19 testing was held without any pre-screening conditions in Pensacola.

Escambia County says around 200 people showed up to get tested from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. The location was at Attucks Court, behind the office.

The mobile testing is a partnership with Escambia County and Community Health Northwest Florida.

Escambia County Commissioner Lumon May says it’s all about access and allowing people of all backgrounds to get tested.

Our partnership wills breakdown barriers and that’s what today is,” he said. It’s about breaking down barriers and allowing people to get tested.

This was the first, but won’t be the last; May says they will be taking this testing neighborhood to neighborhood moving forward.

Another of these testing days is set for Friday at Morris Court (Sanchez 1401 W. Lloyd St.) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Organizers said you have to bring a photo I.D. and an insurance card, if you have insurance.

Meanwhile, due to forecasted severe weather, Community Health Northwest Florida has cancelled COVID-19 testing at both the Brownsville Community Center and Cantonment testing locations .
