The US Navy announced that it will conduct tests to detect antibodies to sailors aboard the aircraft carrier Theodore Roosevelt, which witnessed an outbreak of the Corona virus to determine whether they were exposed to the virus.
We decided to start investigating the outbreak and we are looking for volunteers from the crew to provide an additional smear sample and a routine blood sample for laboratory testing,” said Navy surgeon Admiral Bruce Gillingham. In addition, they will answer a short questionnaire.
The blood sample will be subjected to a new examination that identifies the antibodies to Covid-19 in the blood. The results will reveal to us whether they were exposed to the Coruna virus and then developed antibodies.”
