Connecticut, Maryland, New York, and Pennsylvania governors began cautiously rehabilitating Americans for a post-virus life as residents put masks as they emerged from isolation in the coming weeks.
And the measures of American public isolation have caused great damage to the country’s economy to levels not seen since the Great Depression nearly a century ago, with more than 20 million Americans seeking unemployment benefits with the closure of shops and restaurants.
