A 99-year-old veteran has become a celebrity after collecting at least 8.5 million pounds of $ 10.7 million for Britain’s National Health Service by walking in his garden during the Corona virus crisis.

Captain Tom Moore, a retired army officer who has used a walking aid since he broke his thigh, has set a goal of walking 25 meters around his garden 100 times before his 100th birthday this month.

The story of Captain Tom stirred the hearts in a country that has been implementing general isolation measures for a month and people are tired of the bad news. So far, nearly 13,000 people have died of Covid-19 in British hospitals, the fifth highest overall death toll in the world.

He said it was a joke, but it started getting bigger and bigger until now. I mean, we seem to have now reached several million, which is rather much

“I have never dreamed of all this money for the National Health Authority that is doing all this wonderful work for all of us.”
